The numbers

We want every Galvin’s Chance candidate to secure paid employment and complete an NVQ as a result of the programme, thereby turning their lives around, gaining a qualification and growing in self-confidence. The project has been continually improving its model and building on its success rate over this time. However, due to limited funds we can currently have a maximum of 20 young people on the programme at any one time. Take a look at the overview of each year of the programme below.

2014
20 young people started the programme
14 completed the training
12 offered employment with 4 currently either on placement or awaiting interviews with hospitality.

191 young people attended a Recruitment Day and heard about opportunities in the Hospitality sector
77 young people started on the programme (40%)
60 young people completed the training (78%)
35 young people have so far secured ongoing paid employment in front of house and other service roles as a result of Galvin’s Chance (58%) with 5 more interviewing for positions (8%)
